The word “Gap” is defined as a space or interval between two things/states/situations/realities…the list goes on. Closing or rather narrowing the gap is how learning and growth occurs.

The 7 most common gaps that I’m  continually working to narrow are:

1. “KNOWING – DOING” gap

When I know what to do, but I’m not doing what I know, consistently

2. “INTENTION – BEHAVIOUR” gap

When my behaviour doesn’t match what I intended

3. “PLAN – EXECUTION” gap

When I have the plan, but I’m not executing the plan consistently

4. “AS-IS – TO-BE” gap

The gap between my current state and my desired future state – across any context

5. “THINK – SAY” gap

The gap between what I’m thinking in my head and what I’m expressing through words

6. “SAY – DO” gap

The gap between what I say I will do and what I actually do

7. “POTENTIAL – POTENTIAL REALISED” gap

The gap between the potential I have and the extent to which I’m realising that potential

What would you add to the list?
